    Donovan BaileyOC[1]OOnt[2] (born December 16, ) is a retired Jamaican-Canadian sprinter. He once held the world record for the metres. He recorded a time of seconds to become Olympic champion in He was the first Canadian to legally break the second barrier in the &#;m. Particularly noted for his top speed, Bailey ran &#;m/s (&#;km/h; &#;mph) in his Olympic title run, the fastest ever recorded by a human at the time.[3] He was inducted into Canada's Sports Hall of Fame in as an individual athlete and in as part of the Summer Olympics 4x relay team.[4] In , he was also inducted into the Ontario Sports Hall of Fame.[5]
